Job Description:
The Institute of American Constitutional Thought and Leadership offers innovative academic and extracurricular programs for a rising generation of scholars, professionals, and civic leaders. We are a unique academic unit at The University of Toledo, and we seek an Assistant Director of Student Outreach who will lead our efforts to draw current and prospective UToledo students into our community.
Principal duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Director, Student Outreach include:
Formulating and implementing a comprehensive enrollment and student engagement strategy for the Institute that will engage and align prospective students with the Institute’s undergraduate programs, drive prospective student applications and increase yield, developing and implementing student outreach activities. Collaborating with the Institute’s faculty and staff to provide extra-and co-curricular activities and events for UToledo students. Partnering with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications to execute an on-campus communications strategy to reach undergraduates effectively. Employing, evaluating and leading the student outreach team in promoting the mission of the Institute while increasing enrollment and engagement in the Institute’s academic programs. Oversee outreach efforts, event logistics, and marketing/communications, establishing and progressing the Institute’s reputation by developing and delivering effective presentations at schools and other institutions in the area, representing the Institute and its academic programs on and off campus, and working with university offices and departments to promote the Institute’s programs, and providing information to students on IACTL minors, majors, and courses and work with university offices to Identify pathways for students to enroll in or transfer into IACTL academic programs.
This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Director. Direct reports include the student outreach team as well as student workers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Master’s Degree required
• Previous experience with student outreach required
• Previous experience with supervising staff required
Communication and other skills:
• Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills are characterized by the ability to interface with a range of constituents.
• Prepared to work collaboratively with the Director and Senior Associate Director
• Effective use of computers and related technology for various informational and operational purposes
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Project management and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented and efficient work style
• Able to take initiative and work independently
• Strong leadership qualities, including the ability both to delegate and to execute
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
