Job Description:
This is a part-time (0.75 FTE, 30 hours per week), 12-month tenure-track faculty appointment within the Department of Family Medicine, Division of Physician Assistant Studies. The position reports to the PA Program Director.
The Principal Faculty member supports the mission and goals of the PA Program by contributing to the delivery, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of the curriculum, with primary emphasis on the didactic phase, in accordance with the Accreditation Standards for Physician Assistant Education (ARC-PA).
As a tenure-track faculty member, the individual is expected to demonstrate sustained excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with University of Toledo policies governing promotion and tenure.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies or a related health profession discipline.
Current NCCPA certification (if a Physician Assistant) or appropriate professional certification/licensure in a related discipline.
Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
Prior teaching experience in higher education or health professions education.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, student assessment, and program evaluation.
Experience working collaboratively within a team-based academic environment.
Evidence of scholarly activity appropriate for a tenured faculty appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in physician assistant education, particularly within the didactic phase.
Experience with accreditation processes and familiarity with ARC-PA Standards.
Prior course director or curriculum leadership experience.
Record of peer-reviewed publications and national or regional presentations.
Experience mentoring students' scholarly or research projects.
