Job Description:
A part-time research lab technician position (20-28 hours per week) is available to support research activities related to animal models of autism and empathy. The successful candidate will join an NIH-funded research program focused on understanding the neurobiology of empathy and the relationship between environmental exposures and autism risk in mouse and prairie vole. Although preference will be given to candidates with experience in animal behavior and lab bench techniques, candidates who are motivated to learn these experimental techniques should apply for this position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
Required: High school diploma.
Preferred: Current UT student.
Preferred: Experience with animal handling.
Preferred: Experience with bench laboratory techniques.
Communication and other skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English)
Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team
Ability to perform duties with meticulousness and care, under guidance from the PI and others
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and data organization
