Job Description:
The main purpose of the role is to support, plan, and conduct original research while working with faculty, staff, as well as the graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Toledo. The research fellow carries out research and conducts experiments in close collaboration with Principal Investigators and Faculty at the University of Toledo. Typically, this position carries out research, participates in preparation of technical reports and papers related to research, and collaborates with other members of the faculty research group engaged in related research. May also participate in instructional activities in mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A MS Degree or an equivalent number of graduate credit hours earned in an appropriate discipline.
• A successful candidate will have the following:
o Good written and verbal communication skills (in English) required
o Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team
o Ability to perform experiments and modeling efforts with initiative and independence, under general direction from the Principal Investigator.
o Sound knowledge of best practices in research for appropriate field.
o Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills required
o Must be detail oriented, and highly organized with the ability to keep accurate records..
o Experience with necessary instruments and computational modeling techniques
o Strong analytical skills
