Job Description:

Under general supervision by Clinical Supervisor together with the Program Director, The UTMC Care Clinic Lead Nurse Clinician-RN provides leadership and oversight of work for the clinician staff as well as coordination of clinical services and care. This position provides expertise, training, and education on relevant nursing or program topics and serves as a liaison to stakeholders. The Lead Nurse Clinician RN shall provide clinical care to people living with and affected by HIV through phone triage, and physician/practitioner directed care with the objectives of 1) monitoring the health of the clients, 2) fostering adherence to medication regimens and 3) maintaining the clients in health care.

They will maintain standards of professional nursing practice and coordinates total nursing care for patients with consideration of their specific age needs. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with other health care professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:

• State of Ohio RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• AACRN preferred.
• Recent clinical experience in the care of people living with HIV preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
• Experience in supervisory role preferred
• Prior leadership experience is preferred
• Recent clinical experience in the care of people living with HIV preferred.
• Experience with mental health and substance use treatment preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources for children and families preferred.

Communication and other skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Excellent organizational skills are required
• Exceptional computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office are required.
• Excellent problem solving are required.
• Must have the ability to, as well as meet the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University mandatory training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth therein.
• Ability to work well with diverse populations and demonstrate sensitivity to persons with different cultural backgrounds or sexual orientation.
• Demonstrates an understanding of culture and social barriers to the exchange of health-related information within the community.
• Ability and desire to work productively with highly stigmatized and diverse populations using a strength-based framework.
