Job Description:
The employee successfully completes the fundamental responsibilities of the job description and fulfills the basic expectations of the role. The employee’s daily actions support the strategic direction of the department/division.
Fundamental responsibilities include properly receiving, sorting, transporting and delivering or redistributing mail and assorted mail related packages throughout the University’s campuses. Efficiently operates the metering and sealing equipment. Other related key functions as required.
• Adheres to all University and departmental policies and procedures
• Applies customer service , service quality and service safety principles in all areas of responsibilities or interactions
• Actively participates in all scheduled meetings and training opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write common vocabulary
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the UT driving/insurance policy
• Capable of working in patient areas
• Must possess working knowledge of computer systems including but not limited to Outlook, UT intranet
• Desires experience with metering, sealing and related tracking systems
Physical Abilities:
• Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds
• Ability to frequently push carts weighing up to 250 pounds
• Ability to tolerate all weather conditions
• Ability to tolerate long periods of standing and walking
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
Communication and other skills:
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
• The ability to resolve issues within the scope of assigned duties.
