Job Description:
Under supervision of Radiology Manager, responsible for assembly and maintenance of patients’ radiology records. Responsible for screening patient requisitions. Schedule radiologic exams in proper sequence and explains prep procedures to patients. Register and update all patients seen in Radiology in the hospital information system and radiology information system. (HIS/RIS).
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Successful completion of an anatomy and/or medical terminology course.
3. Two years’ experience in patient care environment.
4. Previous radiology experience preferred.
5. Additional requirements include keyboard and typing skills (20 wpm), and working experience or training with computer.
6. Competence with radiology information systems and PACS preferred
7. Other attributes would be good organizational skills, self-confidence, flexibility in scheduling, multi-tasking, tactful and able to withstand stress/pressure.
8. Effectively responds to customer service needs.
9. Demonstrates effective age and culturally appropriate interaction with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
10. Adheres to UTMC Customer Service values and iCare Standards.
11. Seeks out ways to assist patients and co-workers.
12. Actively participates in performance improvement activities as related to job duties.
