Job Description:
This position will assist the Director, Business Operations along with other facilities leaders with routine fiscal functions and activities related to the capital construction projects and other departmental projects. The Fiscal Specialist is also responsible for securing sources of funds, tracking expenses, reconciling budgets, contract closeout and all reports related to the same. This position will assist in maintenance of fiscal records by completing various audits and preparing status reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Licensing:
• Associate’s degree in business, Accounting or related field OR
• Three (3) years of related work experience OR
• Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
Communication and other skills:
• Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills.
• Knowledge of accounting functions.
• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
• Strong computer skills with ability to utilize spreadsheets and databases.
• Works well independently with little supervision.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality when required.
• Proactive customer service commitment with students, staff, faculty, administration, and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to independently prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment quickly.
• Must be able to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University Training policy.
• Ability to handle high volume work.
