Job Description:

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Toledo seek to fill a 9-month Assistant Lecturer position. Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in Hematology, Immunohematology, Clinical Chemistry, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the University of Toledo’s NAACLS accredited undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science program, and selected foundational biology courses in the program of study. The successful candidate will hold an ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist with a minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist, and will have earned a masters degree, preferably in biology, chemistry or a related health sciences field by August 2025. 

Experience teaching or supervising with students in a NAACLS accredited MLS program preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree, preferably in biology, chemistry or a related health sciences field, an degree in-progress is acceptable for consideration, but degree must be granted prior to start of employment in position.

ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist

A minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching or supervising with students in a NAACLS accredited MLS program preferred.
