Job Description:

The main purpose of this Post-Doctoral role is to support and conduct original grant-funded paleolimnological research in the Spanbauer Lab while working with faculty, staff, as well as the graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Toledo. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct fieldwork, analyze samples, and process data in close collaboration with PI Spanbauer and faculty at the University of Toledo. This position carries out research, participates in preparation of technical reports and papers related to research, presents research, and collaborates with other members of the research community. May also participate in instructional activities in mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

o PhD or equivalent Doctoral Degree In an appropriate discipline is required
o Good written and verbal communication skills (in English) required
o Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team
o Ability to perform experiments with initiative and independence, under general direction from the Principal Investigator.
o Sound knowledge of best practices in research for appropriate field.
o Effective Decision-making and problem-solving skills required
o Must be detail oriented, and highly organized with the ability to keep accurate records.
o Hands on experience with studies and/or animal studies if experiments call for it.
o Experience with necessary instruments
o Strong analytical skills
