Job Description:

This Postdoctoral Fellow will be primarily responsible for designing and conducting experiments related to our research focus on autoimmune diseases. The research requires knowledge and distinctive skill set in immunology and biochemistry that will be important to carry out the goals and specific aims of different projects. This position requires emphasis on techniques including flow cytometry, cell culture, molecular cloning, and bioinformatics. Basic knowledge of breeding and maintaining a rat colony is desirable. Eligible person is required to participate in weekly group meetings and write manuscripts for publications under the supervision of the PI.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in biological/medical sciences (e.g., microbiology, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry, immunology) is required.
Basic electronic word processing, database management, and data analysis skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal applicants are expected to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform multiple research activities (multi-task) daily. Occasional weekend and/or night laboratory work may be necessary.

Working experience with maintaining animal colony, breeding, genotyping and functional characterization using such techniques as PCR, cloning, recombinant protein expression and purification, SDS-PAGE, western blotting, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, etc. is preferred.

PhD graduate with either animal models or molecular biology techniques is acceptable; however, experience with both is strongly preferred.
