Job Description:

The Clinical Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services in the Department of Neurosciences and Psychiatry, not limited to conducting pre-transplant psychological evaluations, providing pre- and post-transplant therapy interventions, and collaborating with medical providers and other allied health providers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Advance Department of Neurosciences and Psychiatry & UTCOM interest in education and scholarly activity through the delivery of didactic instruction to learners, clinical supervision to clinical psychology students and residents, and generation and publishing new knowledge to advance the scientific field.

In coordination with clinic managers and supervisors, the employee will be responsible for regulatory compliance, patient care including proper and timely documentation, education of different types of students rotating through the department and academic work such as research

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be registered and /or maintain current licensure from Ohio State Board of Psychology
• Must have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed.
• Must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed.
• Maintains the Standards set by the American Psychological Association regarding treatment procedure and professional ethics.
• Obtains/maintains Basic Life Support Certification (CPR)
• Passes annual safety test and stay current on all institution yearly training.
• Achieves competencies for assigned work area as dictated by department policies and Joint Commission clinical surveying body.

Required Communication and Other Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaborative skills
• Function as a team member, to assure adequate documentation for payors and to ensure continuity of care.
• Adheres to UTCOM & UTMC service values.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
Or willingness to be a part of a diverse and innovative team in an organizational environment that promotes growth and research in finding cutting age technology for patient care.

Reporting Relationships:
In addition to the direct report above, this position will have employment contracts with UTP, UTMC & UT.

Additional:
All interested in longevity with the organization, will have opportunity, access to promotion and tenure track through the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and the support of the Department Chair of Psychiatry.
