Job Description:

The role of the Inpatient Pharmacy Manager at the University of Toledo Medical Center is to ensure staff of the Inpatient Pharmacy is staffed and trained to provide high quality pharmaceutical care. The Inpatient Pharmacy Manager facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desired patient outcomes in a community teaching environment. They facilitate the implementation of policies, procedures, and staff development programs that promote desirable patient outcomes using safe, cost-effective drug therapies. The Inpatient Pharmacy Manager will precept, mentor, and educate students, residents, pharmacists, and other health care professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy
Must hold current and unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist License
Advanced degree – PharmD, MBS, MS in Hospital or Pharmacy Administration with 5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy
This position requires a flexible schedule due to operational needs of the department.
Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or specialty within 2 years of hire.
Meet ASHP preceptor qualifications within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two to Five (2-5) years of recent pharmacy supervisory experience preferred with previous responsibility as a pharmacy manager preferred.
Formal clinical training is preferred through a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or fellowship
