Job Description:
The Magnet Program Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who provides oversight of the Magnet Program and implementation of creative systems, processes, shared decision making and clinical practices that improve patient care delivery. Responsibilities include ensuring the Magnet Program framework and essential domains are enculturated and hardwired into the organization through coordination, education, and consultation with leadership. Coordinates all aspects of the ANCC Magnet application, annual reports, and re-designation process. The Magnet Program Coordinator will work closely with all interdisciplinary leaders and staff to manage all aspects of the ANCC Magnet application process. It is expected that all nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals. It is expected the Magnet Program coordinator stays current with all Magnet standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have master’s degree in nursing OR a baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from accredited nursing schools with a master’s degree in related field, as well as experience in having led/participated in a health care organization to ANCC Magnet Status.
• Must have an active and current RN License from OH.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in nursing management required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse; includes two (2) to four (4) years of progressive clinical, leadership and/or operational responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change management, with positive impact on quality and/or safety performance.
• Experience in a complex healthcare environment with significant exposure to matrix operating structures.
• Participation in a journey to excellence with successful attainment of national recognition such as Magnet, Baldridge, Pathways to Excellence or unit-based programs.
• Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building
• a knowledge of the health care environment.
