Job Description:
The Asst Athletic Trainer is responsible for: injury and illness prevention and wellness promotion, examination, assessment and diagnosis of injury and illness, immediate and emergency care of the student athlete, therapeutic interventions and healthcare administration and professional responsibility. This position will also be responsible for assisting in policy and procedure development and the education and counseling of student athletes and coaches.
The Asst Athletic Trainer will also assist the sports medicine staff in various other areas as deemed necessary by the Senior Associate AD for Health and Wellness. The Asst Athletic Trainer will be responsible for maintaining a commitment to MAC & NCAA Rules and Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
•Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association
•A minimum of a Master’s Degree is required
•CPR certification
•Must be eligible for an Ohio Athletic Training license
Communication and other skills:
•Strong written and verbal communication skills required
•Flexibility in work hours/days
•Ability to function as a member of a sports medicine team
•Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior
