Job Description:
Responsible for providing direct clinical services including diagnostic assessment and counseling and psychotherapy to patients in outpatient mental health treatment programs. Provides documentation, supervision, and educational services as appropriate. Provides clinical supervision (including evaluation & training and discipline up to and including termination) of social work staff within the department of psychiatry.
The ages of patients served spans the spectrum of the life cycle. Care will be directed at taking information from patients, answering questions from patients, visitors, etc. recognizing that every age group has unique developmental characteristics influencing the approach that should be utilized in dealing with these patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Independently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Mental Health Counselor.
• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
• Experience in the mental health field.
• Supervisory privileges preferred.
• Previous experience providing psychological or closely related diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in working with children and their families.
• Prior work experience or training in a setting with ODMH, CARF and/or Joint Commission accreditation.
Communication and other skills:
• Ability to interact professionally with health-care practitioners, clinicians, and public
• Ability to provide presentations to the general public and stakeholders
• Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to set clear objectives
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
• Knowledge of mental illness terminology
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to use appropriate computer applications
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
