Job Description:

Postdoctoral Scientist to research the mechanisms and therapies of the proteotoxic stress response in tumorigenesis with focus on "Role of heat shock factor 1 in regulating tumoral autophagy and lipid metabolism in pancreatic cancer initiation and therapeutic resistance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in cell and cancer biology, physiology, biochemistry or related field, required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in computer science, data analysis or bioinformatics, preferably within a biomedical research laboratory setting, required.
Hands on experience using computer software for data analysis, required.
Hands-on experience or ability in molecular biology techniques like sample preparation, autophagic flux detection techniques, in vitro and in vivo lipid profile sample preparation, live cell imaging, PLA confocal imaging, SDS-PAGE, and RT-qPCR, required.
Hands-on experience or ability to learn 3D co-culture technique and different instrumentation (e.g., mass spectrometry, HPLC, FACS, and Q-RT-PCR), required
Ability and motivation to learn high-resolution imaging techniques, including confocal, IVIS, and animal ultrasound tumoral imaging, required.
Hands-on experience with mouse work, required
Ability to quantify results and perform statistical analyses, required
Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, especially in addressing routine lab tasks, required
Attention to detail with the ability to keep organized and accurate records, required
Ability to read scientific papers and compose manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals, required
Ability and willingness to write a grant for an individual postdoctoral fellowship from the NIH, ACS, NSF, or DOD within the first 2-4 months after beginning the position., required
Preparation of figures for publication, grant application, and presentation, required
Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills for working with the research team, required
Ability to perform experiments with initiative and independence under general guidance from the PI. r equired
Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive research environment, required
Ability to present data in meetings and conferences, required
• Ability to teach and mentor graduate students

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of omics data analysis or advanced computational methods, preferred.
