Job Description:

The Health Sciences Program at the University of Toledo is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a 9-month instructor position at the rank of Lecturer - open rank.
We are seeking educators with expertise in health sciences education, specifically in the contemporary aspects of healthcare such as social determinants of health, healthcare delivery, and patient-centered care of patients and communities. Responsibilities will include the instruction of courses, engagement with other Health Sciences Program faculty in assessment and programmatic planning, and participation in recruitment and retention efforts.

The Health Sciences program is housed within the Department of Population Health and the College of Health and Human Services and serves students interested in a wide range healthcare and health-related fields. Through specific pre-professional concentrations, students are provided with the foundational knowledge necessary for competitive application to graduate-level professional programs in athletic training, medicine, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and physician assistant, as well as careers in community health, care navigation, and community non-profit organizations. The HS program is an interdisciplinary program that draws strength through collaboration with faculty and advising resources within CHHS and across the university.

The University of Toledo is one of 14 state universities in Ohio and is a public metropolitan research university with students on its main campus and health science campus, which houses the University of Toledo Medical Center and the Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required qualifications include a master’s degree, with at least one degree in a health sciences-related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferences will be given to candidates with previous collegiate teaching experience and/or experience as a healthcare professional.
