Job Description:
This role works under the direct supervision of the Director, Recreational Services and is a core member of the department’s administrative leadership team, assisting in a multitude of administrative, operational, and programmatic functions. The primary function of this position is to provide leadership and direction in the area(s) of marketing & promotion and all programming areas of the department, which includes, Youth Camps, Competitive Sports (Intramural Sports & Club Sports), Fitness & Wellness, Leadership and Special Event Recreational Programs, with specific duties in Wellness Programs. Also provides leadership and direction of the department’s student employee training and development area.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred) in Recreation Administration, Exercise Science, Sports
Administration or Related Field.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Collegiate Recreation Program Management, Fitness & Wellness
Management or Relevant Experience.
• Some leadership experience in supervising employees is required.
• Possession of Current Personal Training Certification preferred (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA).
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a very diverse college environment.
• Active American Red Cross Basic Life Support & First Aid Certification (must be willing to obtain within 60 days of
employment).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two (2) years of prior leadership experience in supervising employees is preferred.
