Job Description:

The marketing manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic and comprehensive marketing plans to support recruitment, enrollment, and retention for UToledo Online at the University. The position will lead marketing and communication initiatives, including but not limited to strategic project planning and management, development of recruitment marketing materials, UToledo Online social media content development and engagement, the UToledo Online website, and CRM strategy and message development for automated email and text campaigns. The manager additionally is the primary point of contact responsible for managing vendor relationships for UToledo Online’s paid advertising and creative services, including development and implementation of strategic advertising plans aligned with the recruitment and enrollment plan, data analytics analysis and reporting, digital campaign optimization and production of video, photo and design projects.

The marketing manager will also provide leadership and supervision of professional and support staff, serve as the key communicator and marketing liaison between other University offices and UToledo Online, and be a part of the UToledo Online leadership team. As part of the online leadership team, the position will contribute to development of enrollment and recruitment plans, participate in strategic planning, assessment, and budget management to assist the leadership team in continuously improving online recruitment and increased retention for online undergraduate and graduate enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required in the area of Communication, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, sales or a related area.
• Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in developing marketing communication plans and strategies.
• Experience with web content management systems.
• Ability to think creatively, innovatively, and strategically.
• Project management experience with demonstrated ability to stay organized, manage work, and meet critical deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in successfully managing direct reports.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred.
