Job Description:

The anesthesiologist is a physician trained in the medical field of anesthesiology, a medical specialty focused on the assessment and preparation of patients for anesthesia, prevention and relief of pain during and after surgical, obstetric and diagnostic procedures, monitoring the course and conduct of anesthetics, treating acute and chronic pain conditions, providing critical care medical services, supervising and teaching medical and paramedical personnel, and providing administrative involvement in healthcare facilities and organization.

The applicant must be board certified or in the examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiology, with a demonstrated interest in the highest standards of medical care, resident and medical student education, and clinical, teaching and administrative duties as required by the Department of Anesthesiology of the University of Toledo.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: MD or DO Required
  • Eligible for or in possession of a valid medical license from the state of Ohio
  • Board certified or in the board examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiology
  • Eligible at the University of Toledo and the University of Toledo Medical Center at the level of Instructor (board-eligible) or Assistant Professor
  • Committed to the education of fellows, residents and medical students
  • Eligible for credentialing at the University of Toledo, the University of Toledo Medical Center and affiliated healthcare institutions.
