Job Description:

The Financial Analyst contributes to the fulfillment of the university's mission and vision by ensuring system functionality and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The Financial Analyst responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with recording, monitoring, imaging, and interacting with staff to accurately and timely process accounts payable and payroll transactions including review, verification, adjustments, and reconciliation.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Day to day communication and customer service responding to inquiries on various topics related to AP and Payroll. Assisting with monitoring general mailboxes and phone lines.
• Providing support to staff members which includes imaging documents, processing incoming payables utilizing upload tools, processing direct pay requests, and reviewing data for accuracy and maintaining documentation.
• Assisting with Concur system monitoring of reports from employees and providing guidance when needed. Assisting with administration of PaymentWorks system.
• Assisting with pay cycle activities for Payroll including monitoring of direct deposits, time keeping systems, and deductions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related business or technical degree.
• Minimum of six months of directly related work experience in Payroll, Accounting, Accounts Payable, or Finance with problem solving and process improvement skills required.
• Requires analysis and judgment in accomplishing diversified duties and the exercise of independent thinking within the limits of policies and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, accounting applications, and system query capabilities to maximize efficiency.
• Requires a “Can Do” attitude with the ability to manage multiple projects, produce high quality work within established timeframe.
• Requires strong research, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• Experience in a large university or governmental/non-profit organization preferred.
• Banner, Lawson and Concur systems experience preferred.
