Job Description:

This role will provide essential support to residents engaged in research projects in the Emergency Medicine Department. This role involves assisting with the design, execution, and analysis of research studies, ensuring that
projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with institutional and ethical standards.
Research Support:
x Assist residents in developing research proposals, including hypothesis
formulation, study design, and methodology.
x Support the collection, management, and analysis of data, using
appropriate statistical tools and software.
x Help residents prepare for Institutional Review Board (IRB)
submissions, ensuring all research complies with ethical standards.
Project Management:
x Coordinate and monitor the progress of multiple research projects,
ensuring timelines are met.
x Maintain detailed records of all research activities, including data
collection, analysis, and reporting.
x Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations
for conferences and publications. Submit monthly reports to program
director on research activity in department.
x Collaborate with other departments to create opportunities for research
ideas and projects.
x Participate in yearly orientation of incoming residents and prepare them
for CITI training and research requirements.
x Coordinate yearly senior resident research symposium.
x Support residency coordinator in other limited aspects of the residency
program

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus at least two (2) years of post-Bachelor’s work experience.
x Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) and data management tool

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related discipline)
preferred. Patients care experience preferred.

x Previous experience in a clinical research, particularly within Emergency Medicine, is highly preferred.
x Ability to assist in the preparation of research grant applications, abstracts, as well as manuscript preparation
and editing is preferred.
