Job Description:

A full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in orthopedic and musculoskeletal physical therapy.

The primary responsibilities of the position include:
• Teaching orthopedic and musculoskeletal-related course content in the DPT curriculum.
• Maintaining a productive scholarly agenda
• Providing academic advising to physical therapy students.
• Providing service as required by the university.
• Rank is commensurate with experience.
• Opportunity for clinical practice at the University of Toledo Medical Center is available.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Physical Therapy degree with an academic doctoral degree, i.e., PhD, DSc, EdD, or equivalent (Applicants who are ABD will be considered).
• At least 1 year of academic teaching orthopedic and musculoskeletal physical therapy course content in an entry-level physical therapy program.
• Applicants must have a current Ohio physical therapist license or be eligible for licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of clinical practice in orthopedic physical therapy.
• Post-professional doctoral training in Rehabilitation Science, Movement Science, or a related field.
• Experience with teaching peripheral joint and spinal manipulation.
• A scholarly record of peer-reviewed publications, and state or national presentations.
• A successful record of obtaining external funding, or strong evidence of the ability to achieve external funding.
• American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties certification in Orthopedic or Sports Physical Therapy, or other related orthopedic physical therapy certification, e.g., American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.
