Job Description:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center invites applications for the full-time position as Assistant Professor of the Division of General Surgery. Candidates should be a board certified by the American Board of Surgery and eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.

Candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of General Surgery have responsibility for covering the General Surgery service line at the University of Toledo Medical Center, an academic level II Trauma Center. He/She should also have a demonstrated track record of leadership and academic productivity. Qualified candidates will have credentials and experience at the level of an Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be a surgeon-educator or surgeon-scientist with a well-established history of academic commitment and mentorship. He/She will be responsible for academic activities including teaching of medical students and residents; research; and related service duties. Leadership and communication skills are important, and there are great opportunities for innovative, educational, as along with, translational or basic research at The University of Toledo.

At the same time, it boasts a fantastic zoo, world-class art museum, excellent symphony, and minor league sports. The Maumee River and Lake Erie provide ample water sports.
