A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in the Healthcare Technology and Innovation Laboratory. This position will be within both the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and the College of Engineering. The position will involve developing smart wearable sensing technologies and accompanying mobile and web-base software clients that uses a combination of logic and machine learning to predict relapse in patients recovering from opioid addiction. The associated wearables will also have several additional applications including investigating the use for chronic diseases management, personalized education/training, and human performance monitoring. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc fellow. The research in my lab is focused on the gut microbiota-mediated blood pressure regulation and antihypertensive medication efficacy. This is an exciting new field with great potential for the resistant hypertensives. We employed a variety of techniques to test interdisciplinary hypotheses. Some highlights include: bioinformatic analysis of gut microbiota, survival surgery for rodent blood pressure measurement, flow cytometry, HPLC-MS, anaerobic culture of bacteria, epigenetic modification, DNA/RNA extraction, real time PCR, western blotting, ELISA, etc. Knowledge in physiology, immunology and molecular biology are helpful.
