Job Description:
The primary job function is to perform routine fiscal functions. The position assists with the preparation/maintaining of Department of Medicine Faculty, staff and students’ employment records. Responsibilities may also include assisting in the preparation of Faculty COS forms, ePAF’s and GAPA’s. Will keep track of the department’s salary budgets and make sure the personnel are charged from the correct indexes. Additionally, this position will work as a liaison between the department, faculty affairs, student affairs and human resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education/Experience/Licensing:
Associates degree in Business, Accounting or related field
Or three (3) years of related work experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Communication and other skills:
Knowledge of accounting functions
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of how to deal with problems involving several variables
Skill in adapting in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions; interpret a variety of numeric data, journals and manuals; add, subtract, multiply and divide; maintain records
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to use computers and applications as necessary to collect and analyze data or keep records; use research methods in gathering data
Ability to copy records accurately without errors, gather, collate & classify information according to established methods
Ability to prepare meaningful, concise and accurate reports
Must have the ability to, as well as meet the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University mandatory training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth therein.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
Proficient banner knowledge is strongly preferred
