Job Description:

Under the direction and supervision of unit management, perform complex student account maintenance functions and provide related customer service activities. Responsibilities include processing third-party educational assistance and invoicing accounts; auditing student accounts; making routine and non-routine adjustments to student accounts; preparing and issuing invoices and refunds; receiving and posting cash, check, and credit card payments; responding to routine and complex customer inquiries; and providing work direction and/or training to lower-level Student Account Specialists, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1,000 hours of training as a Student Account Specialist 1 (or 12 months of equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated ability to calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages, and to read and write using common business vocabulary.
• Completion of six coursework units in public relations or a minimum of six months of customer service/public relations experience.
• Minimum of 600 hours of training or six months of experience in collections-related procedures and techniques.
• Minimum of 600 hours of training or six months of experience in lending or student account recordkeeping, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Excellent communication skills required
• Experience in Microsoft excel required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Banner ERP system desired
• Experience in higher education desired
