Job Description:

Assists the professional nurse in creating a milieu therapeutic for hospitalized patients with behavioral/emotional disturbance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
1. Graduate from an approved school with an Associate Degree in Mental Health Technology or two years of college in Psychology or related field.

2. BLS required.

3. Demonstrates proficient interviewing techniques and empathic interactions appropriate to the emotional wellbeing of the patient.

4. Ability to plan and organize work and to work under close supervision. Willingness to accept responsibility for patients and their care when performing designated functions of this position.

5. May be required to rotate shifts and units.

6. Physical requirements:

a. visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;

b. ability to hear (with or without aides);

c. ability to orally communicate;

d. good manual dexterity;

e. ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally;

f. ability to stand, walk frequently;

g. ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently;

h. ability to perform CPR; and

i. must be able to physically hold and restrain patients.

Workers Compensation & Risk Manager

Main Campus - Administration Toledo, OH, Ohio Risk Management - 110510
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing The University of Toledo’s Workers’ Compensation Program. Implements all matters of the program including but not limited to claim investigation and processing, Third Party Administrator (TPA) and Managed Care Organization (MCO) oversight, and litigation in a manner which promotes the UToledo mission of improving the human condition. Manages the day-to-day activities of all workers’ compensation claims for all University Campuses. This task includes: interaction between Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, TPA and MCO; facilitating transitional/modified duty program; analyzing and investigating injury reports for compensability; assisting legal counsel at the Industrial Commission; reviewing claims for settlement potential; making recommendations to Health & Safety for training based on injury trends; and updating Human Resources personnel on work comp leaves of absence. Assists the Director of Risk Management & Insurance with coordinating the University’s risk management and insurance programs, identifying potential risks, and supporting efforts to prevent or reduce losses
