Job Description:

The Assistant Dean provides senior leadership for the Health Science Campus and the University as a whole across a broad spectrum of responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
•Academic Advisor for ~ 700 medical students
•Career Counseling and Advising, including Medical Specialty Decision-Making, Curriculum Vitae and Personal Statement Guidance and Review, Program Selection, and Interviewing Skills
•Medical Student Performance Evaluations for senior medical students
•Orientation for incoming medical students
•Co-Advisor, Gold Humanism Honor Society
•Co-Advisor, Alpha Omega Alpha
•Medical Student Awards Committee
•Graduation Committee
•Summer Internship/Preceptorship Programs

Minimum Qualifications:

1.M.D./D.O. or Ph.D. degree required
2.Recent higher education administrative experience working with students.
3.Knowledge of higher education and its practices and procedures.
