Job Description:

Provides administrative support in a diverse range of functions to support management and facilitates the daily work. Assists in program or departmental direction by relieving supervision of routine and non-routine administrative duties. Provides information, prepares correspondence and reports, maintains calendars, monitors budget expenditures for the department, resolves administrative problems and/or makes recommendations on course of action.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in business management, secretarial science, or related field is required.
o Equivalent combination of education & work experience can be accepted in lieu of required education.
• At least one (1) year of recent secretarial experience; at a higher level preferred.
• Knowledge of organizational procedures and operations and the ability to analyze and make recommendations.
• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of the methods, principles and techniques associated with research, data collection and report writing.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and procedures and the procedures and practices of preparing and controlling operating and capital budgets.
• Knowledge of contract development, administration, and monitoring, as required.
• Knowledge and ability in the use of computers and peripheral equipment such as printers.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and write reports.
• Ability to deal tactfully and equitably with people and to effectively communicate.
• Ability to use personal computers and applications necessary to collect and analyze data and access and produce budget and procurement documents and changes.
• Ability to effectively communicate and carry out written and/or verbal instruction, detail oriented and accurate.
• Ability to attend meetings.
• Organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to multi-task.
• Manage confidential information and always maintain confidentiality, including FERPA, HIPAA or any other confidentiality requirements/policies.
• Ability to learn and use any University employee information and financial information systems required.
• Typing skills and accuracy of at least 60 WPM (test may be administered)
Preferred:
• Advanced computer skills required including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and One Drive. Experience with scheduling, calendars, and e-mail required. Experience with Access, SurveyMonkey and Sign-Up Genius, Microsoft Forms or comparable preferred.
• Knowledge in general office procedures/practices in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with Symplr or another electronic payroll preferred.
