Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow serves as an independent researcher or collaborator on a research program. This role may lead discrete components of a larger project under the general direction of the Principal Investigator and is responsible for experimental design, data interpretation, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of results.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated research experience in a field relevant to the laboratory’s program.
• Strong record of productivity in experimental research, analysis, and scientific communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, plan, and execute research experiments aligned with laboratory objectives.
• Analyze, interpret, and present research data.
• Develop or refine methodologies, assays, and experimental workflows.
• Mentor trainees and assist with training when appropriate.
• Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, reports, and grant-related materials.
• Maintain detailed research documentation and ensure data integrity.
• Contribute to project planning, timelines, milestones, and collaboration.
• Participate in lab meetings, seminars, and scientific presentations.
The word “manage” should only be used when the duty involves managing people.

1. Design, conduct, and optimize independent and collaborative research projects, including experimental design, execution, troubleshooting, data collection, and interpretation of results 55%
2. Analyze and interpret experimental data; prepare manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, progress reports, and contribute to grant applications and scientific publications 20%
3. Develop and implement new methodologies, mentor graduate students, research assistants, and trainees, and provide technical guidance on laboratory procedures and research activities 15%
4. Participate in laboratory meetings, scientific seminars, collaborative projects, compliance activities, and perform other research-related duties as assigned 10%
