Job Description:

Under general supervision from the department chair, the department administrator, and/or course directors, this position will assist in the management of multiple courses within the department. This position will also perform additional administrative duties as needed to support daily departmental operation and activities. This position will complete duties and responsibilities as described below to provide high-quality, cost-effective assistance in department administrative functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Associates degree and five-seven (5-7) years of office experience may be accepted in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
Office experience in an educational setting required.
Ability to analyze, create, and implement policies to accomplish the goals of the department and university.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently coordinate various responsibilities and job duties.
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and be proactive to avoid negative consequences.
Ability to respond to rapidly changing business environment.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience in Blackboard will be helpful.
Ability to multitask (e.g., preparing exams, handouts, and luncheon meetings simultaneously)
Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Excellent written, verbal, and culturally appropriate communication skills
Appreciation for scientific research and an understanding of basic science helpful
Exhibits integrity and flexibility with appreciation for punctuality, regular attendance, and dependability.
