Job Description:
The Instructional Laboratory Coordinator supports the operation and maintenance of biochemical instructional laboratories in the College of Engineering and ensures the safe operation of equipment in these labs. This position also contributes to the college's ability to provide high-quality laboratory and capstone instruction to Engineering undergraduates and supports related accreditation goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, or at least fives years of experience working in a related industry.
The ability to maintain viable cell and tissue culture lines used for research and instruction.
The ability to design and implement biochemistry laboratory assays and experiments.
Familiarity with OSHA and university health and safety recommendations.
Communication & Other Skills:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff on instructional and research projects.
Demonstrated ability to present ideas and communicate with non-technical visitors to the laboratories.
Ability to work with university and outside professionals on engineering design and construction projects.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
The ability to meet requirements and complete and maintain mandatory training, per the university's mandatory training policy.
