Job Description:
To perform the administration of therapeutic recreation evaluations, and to establish, supervise, and perform the appropriate treatment program of inpatients in the Rehabilitation Hospital, Kobacker Center, and outpatient therapy services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
1. Must be nationally certified (NCTRC). Registration with the State is optional.
2. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS/CPR) required.
3. Passes annual safety test.
4. Achieves competencies for assigned work area as dictated by director (i.e., age specific,
5. restraint/seclusion, crisis intervention).
6. Good written and verbal communication skills to allow for functioning as a team member, assure adequate documentation for payors, and to ensure continuity of care.
Physical requirements:
a. visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;
b. ability to hear (with or without aides);
c. ability to orally communicate;
d. good manual dexterity;
e. ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally;
f. ability to stand, walk frequently;
g. ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently;
h. ability to perform CPR; and
i. must be able to physically hold and restrain patients.
