Job Description:
The employee is responsible to test, and benchmark the performance of endovascular devices from a fluid dynamics standpoint in an in-vitro flow loop. The project requires 3D printing of components, setting up an imaging system and benchmarking the flow characteristics. This work requires prior technical experience in engineering design components, 3D CAD modeling, particle image/tracking velocimetry (PIV/PTV) methods as well as advanced statistical analysis, and Matlab/Python programming at an advanced level. The applicant is expected to work both independently and in a team. The applicant should pick up the relevant knowledge, communicate effectively with the teammates, and provide updates on a regular basis. Throughout the project, the lab/research assistant will be provided with guidance, and technical assistance from Dr. Amili to further develop their skills set.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Mechanical Engineering
Experienced in advanced fluid dynamics and optical imaging preferred.
