Job Description:
The University of Toledo College of Law invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing position. The position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position with potential for security of position consistent with ABA Standard 405(c). The expected start date is August 2025.
The core responsibilities of this position include teaching a full course load (Lawyering Skills I and Lawyering Skills II), and service to students, the College of Law, the University, and the broader legal community.
The University of Toledo is a comprehensive metropolitan public university with a $750+ million annual budget and graduate programs in Law, Medicine, Engineering, and Pharmacy, among others. The Toledo metropolitan area, with a population of over 650,000, is located on the Western shore of Lake Erie and boasts a world-class art museum, lively cultural scene, popular Triple-A baseball team, and a very affordable cost of living. Filling this position is subject to funding availability and approval of the Provost.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required qualifications include: a juris doctor or equivalent with an outstanding academic record.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience practicing or delivering writing or other instruction in an academic institution or law firm is preferred.
