Job Description:
This position supports executive level staff and will be responsible for coordinating wide-scale projects for the unit and across the institution related to academic success (i.e., advising, first year experience, academic support, etc.) by handling a wide variety of academic projects. The project coordinator will need to manage tasks autonomously and advise internal and external stakeholders on various policies and/or current issues facing Academic Affairs. This individual may be involved with unique and highly confidential student and/or staff situations, where independent judgment and discretion are paramount. This position will also be responsible for compiling information and preparing various state and federal reports that include sensitive data tracking and analysis.
This individual is responsible for coordinating multiple high-level projects within the office and managing competing priorities, which will require independent decision-making skills and discretion are required. Independent judgment is necessary when called upon to make decisions that fall outside established procedures and to maintain an environment of continuous improvement of processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in higher education, with three (3) years’ experience in compliance experience strongly preferred minimum of five (5) years project coordination/management experience
•Strong digital media skills; website design/management
• Extensive computer skills including proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), WebEx, Adobe software, and website design tools; experience with Higher Learning Commission assurance system strongly preferred.
• This position requires significant understanding and operation of the Adobe software, Excel, and working knowledge of University Policies/procedures.
Communication and other skills:
•Ability to independently handle multiple work priorities, organize, and plan programs/projects effectively under strict deadlines.
•Must have proven record of highly effective communication, oral, verbal, written – in-person and electronically.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
•High level of integrity; excellent judgment and discretion with sensitive issues
• Adept at balancing mission-driven program development with careful attention to efficient use of monetary and time resources
• Ability to identify and analyze a variety of issues and problems, making recommendations and/or taking action to resolve them.
• Excellent customer service skill set; welcoming, personable, knowledgeable, etc.
• Proven organizational skills required.
• Promote quality by demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
