Job Description:
This role is responsible for all aspects of University of Toledo Family Business Center (UTFBC) memberships and their fees, and program registration, including the acquisition and retention of members, onboarding new members, ensuring all information is properly and securely documented, and recruitment for Center programs and activities. The position will also assist in implementing all ongoing Center functions as well as strategic goals in collaboration with other Center staff, sponsors, members, and community leaders.
Position Duties:
• Recruit and onboard all new members. Typically outreach and travel involved in recruiting efforts.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of members using various mediums of connection including but not limited to LinkedIn, social listening, attending networking activities and events, joining, and participating in community organizations, cold calling, etc.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategy for certificate programs and other revenue generating programs.
• Maintain a current profile of each Center member, ensuring all relevant notes through the onboarding process are correctly documented and entered the CRM.
• Maintain and monitor a member at-risk list, developing and implementing ideas and strategies to engage with these members.
• Communicate and coordinate strategy with Center staff regarding new member opportunities including fundraising and affinity group participation.
• Develop, analyze, and implement goals for Center membership with the director and the Center's membership committee. Lead the membership committee and provide all relevant data for reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree plus three to five (3-5) years of experience in a professional setting is required.
• One to two (1-2) years of experience in Sales & Marketing, non-profit programming & engagement, Fundraising & Development, Membership recruiting, and retention is required.
• Experience with a family business and/or knowledge of family business issues and trends is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with diverse ability, culture, and social and ethnic backgrounds.
• Ability to establish trust, relationship building, and relationship management.
• Intuitive and thoughtful decision-making skills.
• Ability to optimize productivity in high-performance and revenue-generating activities.
• Effective communication through storytelling and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to use social media tools to engage with prospective members.
