Job Description:
The position’s primary responsibilities are (1) to be the front point of contact for phone and walk-in traffic for the Student-Athlete Support Services office including contact with international students, faculty/staff, and constituents of the university, and (2) to provide front-desk and clerical support for all operations of the centers Academic Success and Engagement activities. This position will maintain the look and student-centered atmosphere of the office by setting up office procedures and coordinating the office’s daily operations. Working collaboratively with student-athlete support coordinators, the student services coordinator will support the review and reporting of athletic eligibility, and Compliance to help ensure student-athlete progress-toward-degree completion according to NCAA, MAC, and University of Toledo guidelines.
In addition, the position will have the responsibility of supporting, the student worker program, and the intern/graduate assistantship program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business management, higher education, counseling, or similar, or 3 to 5 years of experience in a
higher education student services related field
• Minimum of one year experience working with students required
• Minimum of one year experience working with large student populations required
• Experience serving high volume student service office required
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, knowledge of the Banner operating system, and
accounting background
• Knowledge of NCAA and MAC eligibility rules and regulations
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Exhibits integrity and flexibility with appreciation for punctuality, regular attendance, and dependability
• Must be committed to diversity and be culturally competent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality on all student records and other confidential matters
• Computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites)
• Ability to contribute to a positive overall student-athlete experience
• Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds
• Skills in problem solving, conflict resolution and demonstrated ability to manage crisis
• Exercise sound judgment and manage confidential information with discretion and accordance to FERPA.
• Establish and interact collaboratively and effectively with staff, student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
• Work evenings and weekends.
