Job Description:
Under the general supervision of Staff Development Coordinator or designee, performs simple and complex secretarial duties relieving administrator and nursing educational leaders of these routine duties. Manages the business functions of Staff Development department and provides information to aid in decision making.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Ability to type 50 WPM accurately and possesses a good working knowledge of the rules of grammar, spelling, correspondence etiquette, and punctuation.
2. Prior experience designing Excel spreadsheets and graphs for data collection required. Knowledge of work processing and spreadsheet software, and computer required; knowledge of medical terminology required.
3. Prior experience in timecard processing required. Knowledge of payroll/personnel functions desired. Must be able/willing to instruct other staff members in timecard processing.
4. Previous clerical experience required.
5. Prior experience designing flyers and pamphlets using a scanner required.
6. Ability to plan and organize work and to work without supervision. Exhibits accuracy and ability to pay attention to details under conditions of stress and frequent interruptions. Ability to gather, collate, and classify information. Demonstrates willingness to work with multiple levels of workers and handle sensitive interactions.
7. Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of the position.
8. Physical requirements:
a. visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;
b. ability to hear (with or without aides)
c. ability to orally communicate
d. good manual dexterity
e. ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally
f. ability to stand, walk frequently
g. ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and
h. ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).
