Job Description:
This is an NIH-funded post-doctoral position where the incumbent Ph.D. level candidate will work towards evaluating the efficacy of smart exosome drug delivery systems in treating pancreatic cancer in vivo. We have developed a library of smart exosomes for precision targeting therapies for pancreatic cancer. We are performing studies validating the therapeutic effect on individual pancreatic cancer that owns unique biomarkers using smart exosomes in human pancreatic cancer cells, organoids, and varied animal models.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in cancer biology or related field
• Practical familiarity with standard tissue culture, mouse models of pancreatic cancer studies, molecular techniques and instrumentation utilized in a cancer biology research laboratory.
• Ability to write manuscripts for publication
• Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience mentoring junior scientists such as undergraduate and graduate students.
Communication and other skills:
• Ability to lead one main project and also contribute to various ongoing research projects concurrently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English)
• Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team
• Ability to perform experiments with initiative and independence, under general guidance from the PI.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in the field of in vivo efficacious studies, preferred
• Hands on experience with gene-manipulation techniques like Lentiviral transduction, CRISPR-Cas9 knockout is preferred
