The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The University of Toledo invites applications for an initial one semester visiting assistant professor position. This position, which is subject to budgetary approval, will start mid academic year in January 2024 and may be renewed for up to three (3) full academic years. A Ph.D. degree in chemistry or a related discipline is preferred.
Applicants from all areas of chemistry will be considered. The successful candidates will be expected to be committed to excellence in teaching and student success at the undergraduate level. Opportunities for research collaboration with the current faculty are also possible for further professional development.

Job Description:
The visiting assistant professor will primarily be responsible for teaching foundational courses in the undergraduate curriculum at the 1000 and 2000 level in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and occasionally at the undergraduate/graduate cross-listed level.

Education/experience/licensing:
• Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related discipline
Communication and other skills:
• Ability to generate enthusiasm and engage students in classroom environment
• Knowledge of modern computer use
