Job Description:
This position will coordinate activities and operations and perform specialized administrative work in support of The Herb Innovation Center (THInC).
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing required:
· High school diploma or GED and 1 year clerical and office experience OR Vocational training/associate’s degree in business accounting, office management, administrative services, or closely related field
Communication and other skills required:
· Ability to communicate and serve effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the University and business and academic communities
· Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize and to work on numerous projects simultaneously; flexibility
· Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially when navigating new challenges and opportunities
· Reliability and dependability, including on-time arrival and departure
· Ability to take instruction from multiple people
· Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva
· Ability to learn new software programs
· Strong analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred skills:
· At least three years of experience working with budgets, preferably for collaborative projects or large, externally funded initiatives
· Experience working in a sponsored research office, university grants accounting office, or in a business or financial management role on federally funded grants
· Demonstrated experience managing or supporting compliance, reporting, or fiscal coordination for externally funded projects
· Familiar with SaaS management platforms (CRM and/or Association Management; Memberclicks preferred), web casting and knowledge management platforms (Mediasite preferred), virtual meeting platforms (Teams preferred), and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter preferred).
· Concur experience would be a plus along with experience with submitting UT Foundation check requests
· Knowledge of University policies, procedures and operations
