Job Description:

This position is responsible for ensuring payroll related practices across all UTMC departments remain compliant. This position will perform payroll audits across UTMC departments to ensure accuracy, standardization and compliance with hospital policies. This position will be the subject matter expert and be responsible for training UTMC leaders on the use of the payroll system including use of specialty pay practices (IA, external agency, FMLA, etc.) and be a resource for leaders and the Payroll Department. This position utilizes multiple software systems and is responsible for producing payroll audit reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management or related degree is required.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in payroll, finance, business management, or audit is required.
• Symplr Payroll Certification (within first 4 months) or knowledge of payroll software is required.
• Ability to use Excel; create spreadsheets and use of formulas.
• Excellent attention to detail, research skills and analytical focused.
• Mathematical and calculation skills.
Communication and other skills:
• Verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work confidentially and independently.
• Ability to converse with leaders and administrators to convey audit results and pay practice information.
• Ability to deal with variety of variables in somewhat unfamiliar context.
