Job Description:
The main role of the person in this position is to enhance program oversight and ensure the smooth functioning of the T32 Program by performing the daily tasks.
The coordinator will be a committed, energetic, and trained professional on program oversight with high organizational and management skills, and a personality relatable to the diverse PhD student cohorts.
Overall, the coordinator will facilitate student services and aid with surveys, evaluations, data collection, organization and record keeping, maintaining trainee database and the Program website. The coordinator will facilitate trainee activities as described in the Program’s Training Plan and coordinate abstract submission, poster and oral preparations and process conference travel and payment requests. This also entails national travelling to conferences and recruitment events. The coordinator will ensure that all paperwork and training requirements are completed in a timely fashion to help trainees concentrate on their PhD research. The coordinator will assist Principal Investigator (PI) in the operation of the financial and accounting of the Program, and in submitting annual reports to the NIH in a timely fashion.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors with at least 4 years’ experience or a Graduate degree and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• A PhD is preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of other requirements.
• Proven ability to manage projects independently and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in coordinating multicultural student organizations is preferred.
