Job Description:
The candidate will be charged with leading an externally funded study of the role of feedback in star formation primarily using infrared observations from space telescopes. They will help lead the reduction and analysis of data from the JWST telescope obtained by the HEFE program, a large JWST program led by UToledo, as well as HST data and ground-based IR data. Tasks include analyzing photometry, images, spectra, and spectral-imaging data cubes with the goal of measuring various signatures of protostellar accretion and feedback. They will then use this data to make inferences on the impact of feedback and environment on star formation environment. They lead and contribute to publication of these data and present the results at meeting. In addition, they will collaborate on proposing new studies based on that data.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. degree in Physics, Astronomy, or related fields.
• Experience in the area of galactic star formation
• Experience in analysis of astronomical spectral data.
• Experience with software for astronomical data reduction and Python language.
