Job Description:
The Research Assistant is primarily responsible for analyzing samples of biological and
analytical chemistry interest. The function of this position is to provide support to the research laboratory to assist with ongoing projects that primarily involve the identification and
quantification of various types of peptides using LC-MS. The candidate is expected to work independently or as part of collaborative projects in those efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
·Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
·Or 2 years of experience working in a laboratory with knowledge of the basic principles andapplications of instrumentation: HPLC, LC-MS and LC-MS/MS,
·Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Communication and other skills:
·Ability to communicate in writing and prepare reports
·Ability to collaborate with others
·Knowledge of the principles, theories, methods and techniques of analytical chemistry
