Job Description:
· Safely design an exercise program then instruct the client through an effective personal training package at the SRC or Morse Center. Ensure client safety at all times, including throughout the strength and cardiovascular areas.
· Schedule and meet with clients by appointments and/or make up appointments in conjunction with client’s needs.
· Administer initial fitness assessment and develop individualized exercise program for each client based on needs and interests.
· Maintain client database and records of all sessions with clients. To ensure client privacy, all documents, with any identifiable information, are stored in Wellness office at all times.
· Provide quality guest experience to all Office of Recreational Services guests.
· Enforce all building and program policies and procedures as it pertains to the personal training program.
· Respond to emergencies in strict accordance to the Office of Recreational Services Emergency Action Plan.
· Check email daily and communicate effectively with the supervisor through phone, email, text, or in person.
· Attend and participate in all trainings and meetings within employee group and department wide, including Leadership and Training Week: August 18-22, 2025
· Train (team teach) and mentor new employees.
· Other duties as assigned by the Office of Recreational Services
Minimum Qualifications:
· Personnel information must meet The University of Toledo employment qualifications
· Must have and maintain current American Red Cross Professional Rescuer lever or BLS CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
· Must possess current nationally-accredited personal training certification (I.e. ACE Certified Personal Trainer, ACSM Certified Personal Trainer or Health/Fitness Specialist, or NASM Personal Trainer, or NSCA Personal Trainer/Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
· Applicants must be motivated to help others to achieve their fitness goals.
· Ability to work independently.
· Demonstrated skill in quality guest service, communication and organizational and analytical skills.
