Job Description:

The Direct Service Provider (DSP) position is highly complex and requires a detailed knowledge of a multitude of disciplines including, but not limited to, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, Residence Life, Admissions, Dining Services, Academic Advising, and Parking Services. The primary function of this position is to operate in the spirit of advocacy on behalf of the student. The DSP’s primary goal is to remove barriers to student success by helping the student manage business-related University processes. The DSP must effectively address student concerns and requests, while proactively anticipating additional issues. The DSP often provides coaching to empower the student to take the appropriate steps toward problem resolution. The DSP is responsible for: responding to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries; processing registrations, drops, withdrawals, transcript requests, and enrollment certifications; evaluating financial aid eligibility and student accounts; referrals and advising related to military education benefits; and advising students on policies and procedures applicable to financial aid, registration, admissions, and billing/student accounts processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Requires a bachelor’s degree or five years of direct customer service experience in
financial aid, registration, student accounts, or other customer service related fields.

Communication and other skills:
• Requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as strong
organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Requires the ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Requires a strong work ethic and a history of exceptional customer service.
